Remote Start V70-XC70 2002

Some MN towns have an ordnance not allowing an unlocked vehicle to have the keys in it. The result is a lot of cars with remote starters, the car is still locked.

Why would you want it? Isn't that what seat heaters are for? If you have climate control, the blower dosen't run until the coolant starts to warm up so you don't get blasted with cold air.

What are you doing that is so important you cannot be with the car when the engine is running? I live in a cold region of the USA, but getting out and starting the car 'manually' at -10F is a no brainer. I let my ears determine when the car is ready to put into gear, usually about 30 seconds at that temp. And, after I have driven less than 1 mile the blower starts to come on. Sure, I have to wear gloves because the steering wheel is not heated, but the gloves come off after 3 miles. And I don't waste a lot of gasoline overheating the engine.

Adding a remote start can only make electrical issues more complex, and the electrics are already too complex.
