The rivet, or stopper, is still there holding the buckle up in position (which is more than I can say for the front passenger seat, BTW). No, in this case the belt is just plain locked. And the weird thing is that it locked with plenty of slack in the belt. Enough so that I calmly and repeatedly tried to feed in the belt to free the locking mechanism to no avail.
Is there somethign inside the seatbelt assembly that may have been fooled to think the car was in an accident when I flipped the seatback to its upright position? If so, how can I get it to release the darned belt?
