Let start by clearing up the misconception about Audi. The Audis of the mid-80s didn't surge or jump. The car's only fault is that the accelerator and brake pedals were much closer together than what people were used to. People were trying to stab the brakes and inadvertently hitting the accelerator by mistake.

That said, no. I've never heard of an S80 spontaneously accelerating and surging at all. If she's driving a T6 and doesn't have the finesse to handle the gobs of available torque at her disposal it may FEEL like the car is jumping and lunging because she lacks the micromotor skills to modulate the accelerator pedal. Is she a shorter lady? I've heard of individuals under 5' often having problems getting their legs in a good position to operate the pedals.
