BG MOA V70-XC70 1999

I am a big fan of synthetic oils, they leave fewer deposits inside the engine and PCV system.

Your crankcase was dirty and the BG MOA helped clean it. That is why the hydraulic lifters were ticking at startup, the oil chanels were dirty. Not sure about the 'growling" noise.

I also tell folks to add a can of AutoRx and then drive the car for about 1,000 miles to clean out the sludge from the PCV and rocker arms. It works. But should only be used once.

While the BG product might have worked, your engine has other problems. You need to get the motor oil hot when you drive it so that it can burn off the deposits instead of letting them turn into sulphuric acid.
