Engine replacement on my S70 S70 1998

Your blown engine is 2.3L and the low pressure engines are 2.4L or 2.5L (depending on year). The 2.3L engine is made for high pressure while the 2.4L and 2.5L are not. Yes, you could put the LPT engine in your car, but I would not reccomend installing your HPT to it. The ECM will also need to be changed to reflect the parameters of the 'new' engine.

There are a lot of "T5" engines out there. Do your shopping, the 2.3L with HPT was available form 1995-1998. The 850 models were turbo, T5, and R. The 1998 was T5 and R.

Unbolting the engine from the tranny, while in the car is a royal pain but it can be done. Many shops just take out both at once by lowering the subframe and then lifting the car. It is your call, depending on your equiptment and skill.
