Hood latch fell off! Can't get hood open V70-XC70 1999

Coat hanger. Bend a small "V" in one end and catch the latch with it. If the latch that fell out includes the 90 degree bend, then you might want to make the coathanger bend 90 degrees and engage the latch near the top. Use a small flashlight to see beter.

And I thought they got rid of that thing after 1996. I wonder if your hood was from an 850???
