I'm going to assume that you're not doing the work yourself and the quotes you list include labour.
Let's look at the parts pricing from FCP.
Remember that the garage relies on markup to make money, so unless you're buying the parts yourself and bringing them to the garage (some garages don't like this because you're eating their aforementioned margin) and/or doing the work yourself (ie: no labour cost) you're going to pay more than FCP charges to get the parts through a mech.
Also realize that garages do what's easy for them - ie: buy parts from NAPA/CarQuest/etc whose prices will be MUCH higher than FCP.
FCP does free shipping in the US and offers %10 off to matthew's volvo site members (the coupon code is on their homepage ad).
Also remember I don't know what your local shop labour rates are like. Around where I live it's ~$50-$100 (dealers charge the higher rates, indie the lesser).
4 engine mounts:
I'm not sure which 4 mounts they're referring to, I as I think on FWD cars there are only 3. Here's FCP's kit for $100 : http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/product_id/26227/nm/Volvo_850_S70_V70_Engine_Mount_Kit/category_id/109
Are you noticing a lot of vibration from the engine when you're idling in traffic or at a stop sign?
labour : ~2 hours?
my opinion : $900 seems like way too much for this job
Outer tie rod ends:
FCP has aftermarket ends for $13 each and OEM (better) for $34 each:

labour : ~1 hour for both sides
my opinion : $200 seems like a lot for this job
Control arms/ball joints:
FCP has OEM (don't buy the aftermarket ones) for $145:

labour : ~1 hour
my opinion : $710 is far too much to par for this job
Alignment:
my opinion : $180 for an alignment is absolutely f@#$ing ridiculous. Is he flying someone in from Sweden to do the work? A good alignment from someone with good equipment and experience is well worth the money IMHO, but most places aren't nearly careful enough and leave a lot to be desired in terms of their results.
Where my parents live in NS alignements cost ~$50. Where I live in NB they cost about $60. $100 would be a lot to pay for an alignment unless you know you're getting super top-notch work done and they agree to free re-checks and warranty it for 5000 miles (which no alignment shop will agree to unfortunately).
Parts you already paid for:
AC Pressure Switches:
I don't know much about the AC system, but FCP has a pressure switch for $100:
http://www.fcpgroton.com/category-exec/category_id/77/nm/A_C_Switches_and_Sensors/sub_top_menu_item/by_make-by_model-by_year/by_make/78/by_model/1163/by_year/48
labour : a few minutes to install I think. Diagnostic to find problem could be high.
my opinion : $570 is too much for this work.
