That sounds like a good move Groton will sell you something that fits at least -maybe Brembo rotors with Mintex pads. The debate is still open as the whether, OEM are the only type that won;t squeal. I've managed to keep mine quiet.
Is it possible that you failed to compress the piston inside the caliper? You can wedge the handle of a channel lock in there and push. You are pushing against the fluid so it takes force and you might loosen the cap on the reservoir. Sorry you have to do it twice, but your saving $$ and it'll be easier the second time
