That is interesting. I am sure this is true for having control in higher speed driving situations. However, when you are in a front wheel drive vehicle and need traction in snow going up inclines (mountain roads or driveways), I have to think you are better off with the tires in front.

I would think that as long as the tires in the back have more than 2/32 of tread (more like at least 4/32) you shouldn't have issues with the back losing control?
