S60 New Code P0507 S60

He drove to the shop so I assume the idle was rough and the engine warm. When it is cold idle is 2500 once it warms up the idle goes to less than 1000 but is very rough. I doubt the injectors are bad as it runs fine when cold.

Would a throttle body cleaning help or as I suspect is this a failed or failing electronic throttle body?

I told him of an extended warranty Service Manager Bulletin 25-149 that covers his car related to the ETM.

P2177 comes up again. This is from a different shop.
They told him.

"First off they told me that they are having problems reading the cars
computer because the software needs to be updated and that can only be done at the Volvo Dealer.
Or as an alternative, the mechanic told me that if I found somebody
that has
the original Genesis version 1.0 or has an OTC scanner then it would
be able
to read all the codes.

The got the following:
P0507 idle speed high
P2177 lean off idle.

Then they took the cover off the engine and found the following
problems:
* Definitely one and possible 3 bad injectors
* One bad spark plug but recommended to replace the lot
* They found engine oil on top of the engine and explained that the
valve cover gasket needs to be replaced
* They explained that the computer went in "limp mode" and that is the
reason that there is no reaction when the accelerator is pushed."

Thanks Klaus you seem to be one of the few that knows much about these newer Volvos. I'm sticking with my 240's for now.
Dan
