Thanks for the reply. The timing belt was done about 8,000 - 10,000 miles ago by a local indy Volvo specialist. My girlfriend(her college student son's car) bought the car back to the indy for a check engine light on and he gave her a laundry list of repairs that this car needed($$$$$$). She wanted a second opinion and brought it to the local dealer who diagnosed exactly what you and Klaus said. They said the indy put the tbelt on a tooth off and corrected the problem(very reasonably) and reset the check engine light. After about a week of driving the light reilluminated and I pulled the codes that I listed in my earlier post. She is trying to find the laudry list of repairs proposed so that I can look it over. This is a very low mileage car for the year...has about 55000 miles. She seems to remember something about a variable valve timing module that was big bucks in the original estimate. Anyone know about variable valve timing in these models? Again, thanks for any replies,
Dan
