Hi 7 volvos,
4volvos had this to say about E-1:
"Slide a credit card between the cartridge and the player body where the L.E.D. is and the cartridge will pop out. Check and make sure that there are only 6 C.D.s in the cartridge."

E-1 usually means that there is a disk that won't eject.
