Well, we've had the car for about 8 months. It has 80,000 miles, carfax is clean.

So, I get in one day, turn the key, and it doesn't crank, doesn't turn over, doesn't go "click", doesn't do anything. I look down to see all of the dash lights, and I mean ALL of them on. Turn it off, back on, same thing...about twenty times...then, it cranks. Well, I turned it back off, and it did the same thing...nothing.

I called the Volvo dealer that was closest (Hendersonville, NC), and told them I was bringing the car, as soon as I could get it to crank again. So, we took the car, and we were told it would be ready in 5 days.

5 days later: Quote from the dealership "Well, we havn't had a chance to look at it yet, but it'll be ready in two more days."

2 days later: We go to get the car, after calling to make sure it was ready, they have it in the lot when we get there. Bill comes to $1478.xx for the new computer and labor. We write the check, and go to get the car, which is "being washed, then will be pulled up front". Walking outside, we see the service manager in the car, turning the key, with nothing happening. Same problem as before. Still not repaired.

We go back inside, get our money back, and are assured the car will be ready in a week.

So, now the car has been up there for 6 weeks, the eastern US Volvo "guru" has been to check it out, and it's still not repaired, and they still dont know what is causing the computer to cook itself. We've been in constant phone contact with them (three calls a week, by me, none by them) asking when/if they can fix it, always being assured that they can fix it. It's not looking so good, as far as I'm concerned, as a probability that they can fix it.

And to sugar coat it, we got a bill in the mail for the $1478.xx (the original repair bill, that was voided by the service manager) on 9/2.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody here (I was refered by a friend) could help in any way.
