I am considering a purchase of a 98 S70 T5 with 97k miles.

The car drove very nice and was really tight.

Brakes, Rotors and Tires are all fairly new.

There were a few things in question however.

The radio said OFF on the display. When you hit the power switch, the screen went blank. It did not ask for the code. It just stays blank. I could not get a good explanation from the owner. He said something about the battery being disconnected and having to wait for a while for the code screen to appear. This is what the dealer told him. There is a little language barrier I am working with here.

I did not think about checking the fuse till I got home. Would the fuse cause this symptom? Would the OFF be on the display if the fuse was bad?

I looked on EBAY and could not find any S70 radios. I could go aftermarket if I had to, but I like the simplicity of the factory radio.

Additionally, I noticed a faint odor from the vents when the heating and A/C was being tested. I thought it smelled electrical,but my wife said it smelled like food. After a minute or so, the smell went away. Is this something to be concerned about? Is this a deal breaker?

The price is $4750 after some negotiation. I thought it was fair.

Any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated.
