Speedometer issue

Interesting I never read about the 96 tooth tone ring. Dakota Digitals Universal Speedometer Signal Interface SGI-5 (~$80) will probably fix your speedometer problem. After I got a 1041 my speedometer read 4 times too fast. I ended up cutting 3 of every four teeth on my 48 tooth tone ring to make it read correctly with the '86 gauges in my 740 wagon. Maybe you could do the same and swap to earlier year gauges? Having done it I'd recommend the signal converter (time is money right?).
