Clutch throw

Perhaps it's just another example of why you replace a clutch as a matter of course when replacing your engine.
Now if I could just sprinkle some magic dust on my wife while she sleeps so she wakes up and says "you know, you really should spend more money on that car".LOL
What are most of you using for clutch cables, and if Volvo do you just have it resting on the outside end of the transmission like I do.I wanted to at least have the white plastic part going into a metal "cup" which would then go into the hole on the tranny, but I don't know how to weld. Guess it's about time I learn.Any updates on hydraulic clutch possibilities?
