ls1 swap

Hey y'all doing to ls1 swap in a 79 240DL for a customer and am in need of a new IPD deeep front sway bar, along with the sway bar kit. Just got off the phone with IPD and they believe there sway bar kit they have will not be deep enough to clear the v8 oil pan. The JTR stealth conversion manual says to use a diesel front sway bar to clear the LT1s so i'm guessing one similar will clear the LS, I just want one shiney and blue new. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Had an old (circa 1999) IPD 25mm drop bar on mine when it had the 5.0L in it. Sold it and swapped in a 28mm IPD drop bar from their most recent 'special order' of those when I put the LS3 in it. I think someone out on the west coast bought their remaining bars and was selling the off. I may have gotten the last one. Not sure about the diesel bar -- I thought it was the V6 bars that had the OEM drop in em.

I'm not sure if the diesel bars and V6 bars had the same Volvo part number on them, but they both have the drops in them, and work for the V8 conversions.

But to the OP - the IPD drop bars will be easier to find. There is also at least 1 vendor on Ebay that sells "260" sway bars, they should work also.

The guys name was Sin Sengmanyphet from IPD and he said the same thing that a company bought em all out and that I should get on here and buy the kit. Thats where I am. I'll email him and find exactly what he meant.
