Timing Belt Replacement - Necessary Components

About the gasket, the "timing" cover gasket you saw a pic of is most likely the auxilary shaft seal carrier/cover gasket. Lots of places list it as a timing cover gasket. The reason that it is open at the bottom is the oil pan bolts to the bottom of the housing.
