HELP! 960 vent problem

Mine did the same thing before the fix. Throttle position or additional load on the engine going uphill affected the vacuum in a manner that made manifest the flaw in the vacuum unit. See Poolman's fix described below; sounds a lot like what I remember of the fix on my car, but no defrost problem afterwards that I'm aware of.
