ECC codes? 700

I have a 1990 765, 133k miles. I've just started to use and try to understand the ECC fault check system on my car. The car began to stall out and then would start again after a short wait. ECC code read 1-4-3, bad knock sensor.
Replaced knock sensor and now the car behaves as if in limp home mode on a drive today. Today checked ECC code and 1-4-3 comes up again. Please excuse my rookie questions, but any clues please. I figure that there is most likely other things I need to check, such as fuel filter, ground connections,etc. Thanks.
