Heat 200 1981

Just fixed mine. Nothing is impossible.
It's not that complicated, and it's free if you do it yourself.

Under the driver side of the centre console, by the floor, is the little device that the hot/cold lever cable controls. It has a delicate metal coil that detects temperature (leave it be). You need to oil the gears/cams on the device and oil the cable in the jacket so that it moves the cams sufficiently to let the system know you want it to not get hot. Worked for me.

I did it while replacing my blower motor. See Art Benstein's page on taking apart the dash - big help. You just need to get to the thingy by the accelerator pedal.
