That's not a bad price, given what you've told us. Some areas of the country have many more of these cars in nice condition, so some folks will pay less according to the supply of cars in their area.

$2,000 isn't a bad price for any clean car in good running condition (well, it might be pushing it for a Yugo if you could still find one!) Given Volvo's good reputation for engineering and the long life of their products - when given proper care - I'd think this might very well be a good buy.

Also, the car is approaching the point where there will be little depreciation. A few years and the value might begin to climb.

I'm only speaking from experience, having owned well over 100 cars, trucks, motorcycles and boats. My current driver is a 1964 Volvo PV544 with over 400,000 miles on it. I was happy to pay $4,100 to get it!
