I've seen aluminum backed starters... I think only the latest ones. perhaps '74 and '75. just the back I think, but perhaps the gear surround is aluminum too... have to check that.

Good score on that engine! Bellhousing alone makes it all worth it... did '75s have electronic ignition in your part of the world?
