I was looking in my paper today, and I found a 1984 245 turbo intercooled m46 car. It was in very nice shape, and drove very nice. It was silver with black leather. It had the original Virgo alloys and was in very nice shape. The car has about 210,000 miles on it, but it drives great. Apparently the current owners have had it a year have not done much with it. They bought it from the original owner who had always had it serviced at the dealor and they had a huge pile of records on the car, supposildy about 15k worth of stuff done over the years. I noticed off hand that it had a brand new Volvo wireing harness with Volvo stickers on it, and that the steering was extreamly tight feeling like it had just been gone thorugh.
I don't need three cars, and I probably could not afford to ensure three cars either, even though I can only drive one a time. lol I currently have a 1988 244 DL M47 that I have put a lot into. I have repainted all of the upper services, fixed the seats, and added power windows, and upgraded to the 91+style winshield. This car has also had ams oil ran in it since 75k. It had 170K now. The only two flaws that it has in the air condidtioning does not work and it need a new exhaust system, which it will get in a coulple of weeks.
My other Volvo is a 1983 244 Turbo, Black on Black leather. It's a very nice car, but it's simply not as pristine as my 88, but it is quicker. I know that it is going to need some suspension busing work in the near future. It also has the original wire harness which is is not pristine. Its not nearly as tight as the one that I drove today. The The airconditioner also works. I'm really not sure what car I would be willing to part with.
The guy wants $2000 for his turbo wagon and would probably take less. I'm thinking that I could probably sale my 83 turbo for about that and turn around and have this pristine car for the same price. Are wagon's as cool as sedans? I really like the uniqueness of my black 244. I also love the dependibily and the fact that the 1988 244 DL was my first car. Is there any upgrades in an 84 from and 83 turbo car that I should be aware of>
I would love to have all three but I think insurance would eat me alive. What should I do? Does anyone have any insurance ideas, as I can only drive one car at a time! Thanks and happy bricking.
