There are three wires, in my 1988 240 Volvo Service Manual Wiring Diagrams. Your 1991 is likely the same.

From the motor comes a connector with a GR wire, a connector with a SB (black) wire, and a BN wire with a ring terminal. The BN one is the ground. There is also a SB wire from the gear unit to the motor end.

The SB in the harness is hot from fuse #1, the GR wire is from the interval relay.
