How do I remove the clear backup lens without breaking it? 200 1986

I don't know - never faced this job - but if I had it on my menu, I'd disconnect the electrical connections from the tail light assembly, then remove the whole assembly (lens and reflector combo) from the car. That way, I can deal with it on the workbench, in good light.
