I think the engine flush is a clear no; you have a low mileage car, and dark oil is not really an issue. I think it was an attempt to sell you more service and that is a common issue at these places.

The synthetic oil issue is more of a preference issue. I run synthetic in the 960 but not the 240. In a newer car like yours I would be tempted to run synthetic, though.

What weight oil does the owner's manual call for? I do run 10w-30 in all of mine.
