Difficult warm starting 88 240 (looking for a challenge?) 200 1988

Warm start issues can be caused by the RPM (crank) sensor. According to this forum it can be sensitive to "heat soak". For $40 it may be worth a try.

Also my recent warm start problem was due to a failing o2 sensor. Seems the heater on the sensor was shorting out esp. when warm. It started out as you have described and gradually got worse. Easy to check with a multi-meter.
