1990-240 temp guage problem.

Most of the time temp is normal, but a couple of times the dial has gone slightly above the middle point. Every so slightly. Doesnt seem to matter what the outside temp is. It does seem to happen after a long hard run. This has only been a couple of times thus far. Is this something that I should worry about? Is the compensation board going? Water pump? thermostat? Thanks.
