Hi All

I have had a intermittent hot start problem. It happens only when it is a hot day and I am driving the car stop start.

I park the car and come back to it a short later and hit the key the starter motor doesn't crank. Everything else works

I switch the key off and open the bonnet and let it cool off for a short time it will start first time I hit the key

I took it for a long 800km(400kms down and 400kms back) trip the other day. I got to the first place I was going to it happened again. I got a screw driver and removed the green wire from spade connecter on the starter motor and used the screw driver to start the engine by putting the screwdriver from the spade connecter to the terminus on the starter motor that battery lead goes to.

I went to a few other places and had to do the same thing to start it again

I parked it at a undercover at a shopping centre for about a 1.5 to 2 hours and went to start it again and no start. I used the screwdriver to start it

I went home and let it sit overnight. I went out today hit the key and it started first time

I have come to the conclusion that it is a thermal problem. It's either A problem that green wire that goes to the starter motor (In the wiring harness)

Any advice about this problem would be greatly appreciated as the problem is starting to give me the shits
