electrical ghosts- is it the wiring harness? 200

I was out of town for a week, and when I was driving home from the airport my stereo started turning off, then on, then off again repeatedly. It's continued, and it seems to happen mostly when I'm breaking, and when I'm stopped(although not always- sometimes while I'm accelerating, or just cruising). At stoplights, it flickers on and off, and occasionally my speedometer needle jumps up and down.I haven't noticed any other electical problems- although sometimes I notice that when I flip on my blinker, the stereo shuts off- it could just be coincidental though. I've got a fairly powerful sound system in the car (a 1990 4 door 240 sedan by the way) but this seems to be more than just loose wiring or something. any suggestions?
