More intermitent charing problems 700 1989

I just had a problem with my alt that was doing the same thing, the adj bolt broke and the other bolt worked loose and stopped charging my battery. Hook amulti meter up and see what it reads, it should be between 13 and 14.7ish. When my belt was a little loose it would on read 12.3 and when I tightened it up and went back up to the upper 13's.
