Yes - a semi is a large truck with a separate trailer.

Back when my PV had the original B18 I had to hide behind trucks to keep up with the pace of traffic on a modern highway. In the wind I had to have the gas nearly to the floor, and combined with the RPMs it felt rather abusive.
