thanks for the help (there were no responses on the 700 forum)... i went to the 1800

700 faq and figured out the a/c fail codes after a little screwing around.
looks like the sensor near the dome light, as expected, and also the sensor on the dash speaker unless i didn't shine a bright enough light on it....(fwiw, two fail: codes 131 and 161)
