Adding CD Player 200

I just finished replacing the cassette unit in my 92 240 wagon with a Sony cd reciever. I used a harness adapter and faceplate adapter from parts-express.com (two plugs-one from volvo cassette and one from volvo amp). There was a bracket holding in the rear of the volvo cassette that was tough to release. There was a strip of steel that slips into a slot. The strip has a locking tab that is hard to access. Once that tab goes through the slot the cassette comes out easily. If your current stereo has no Volvo amp then your job should be straight forward. Cruthcfield sells a Sony Xplod CD for about $100.00. The adapter plugs are included at no extra cost. I bought my unit on EBAY and had to get the faceplate and plugs separately. If you get a modern Volvo cd at the boneyard make sure the plugs match or you would be better getting a new unit with a warranty.
