New owner so what may be an obvious answer is a mystery to me:

Is there a way to open just the top of the tailgate from the outside without unlatching the bottom. It seems like an obvious thing but maybe I'm missing something. There is only a window latch on the inside.

Maybe the DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner) modified it in some way?


Also is there a kit to replace the funky prop rods with modern hydraulics? One-handed open/close.
