I think all the 900 series cars came with this "feature". I've had it on both of my '93 945s and I absolutely hate it! Upon exiting the car at night, I'm continually looking over my shoulder wondering if the door is shut all the way -- and if the damn light is going to turn off. Unfortunately for you, it's my wife's car, and she likes the feature. Otherwise I'd offer you an even swap for yours -- I'd love to get rid of that delay. I may have a spare unit in my basement with a delay built into it. I'll check tonight. The color is maroon, but if that doesn't match your interior, you could just swap the guts.
