I did the M410 OD upgrade to a '68 144S and took a factory OD column mounted switch and plastic cover to match off of a '72 144 and it fit perfectly without any bracket as I recall. IIRC it uses the same bolts as the turn indicator through the plastic, but on the opposite side.
