Reread your reply- I have checked the terminals at both ends and they are clean, but I have not checked the cables themselves. I have boosted it with a portable power supply with the positive on the battery and negative clamp on the block, so I think that negative cable is fine, but I will check the positive cable. Do they corrode inside the insulation? Can I remove some insulation from somewhere in the centre of the cable to check, or do I just check for voltage drop across the cable?
