Compressor change, R134a conversion update 700 1984

About a year and a half ago I replaced the York piston style AC compressor on my son's 1984 760T with a 1991 model year rotary compressor, changed all of the AC lines, installed a VOV and converted the system to R134a with the Volvo kit. We had a leak in the system, so performance was nil until last week.

Last week I tightened all of the fittings, evacuated the system, and installed three 12 ounce cans of R134a. At 104º F, and freeway speeds the vent temps are 46ºF. When the temperatures are in the mid 90ºs, the system puts out 39-41º at the vents. We are very satisfied!

Performance might be better if I had managed to install the 32 ounces for R134a that is called for, but the vent temps tell me we did fine.
