740 shuts off sometimes.

I haven't experienced it yet, but the PO said it will just shut off when you're driving it. not necessarily at idle either. it starts right back up. he thought it was the fuel filter screen in the tank that was clogged. He's run lots of fuel injector cleaner through it, and replaced the filter under the hood, and the fuel pump. Still does it. Any ideas?
car has 311K on it.
