Hi, I am asking for help with my 88 740 wagon, non-turbo. It starts and idles rough and after it is warmed up and I put it in DRIVE the engine dies as fast as shuting off a light swithch. After it dies I hear a doink noise from the passenger side kick panel. I have done the following : 1 changed the timing belt, water pump, belt tendtioner, FPR, oil & filter change,& new coil. The previous owner did not do much except change the oil and fuel filter. I did find that my in tank fuel pump is not running. I don't know if I should just sell it , but being disabled , I can get in and out of it much better than our newer car ( a 96 Corolla ). HELP. Thanks , Dan.
