I realize now that you have to use a magnifying glass to really examine the solder joints on the FI relay. I also used a dental pick and scraped away at the solder points. Reading in the FAQ, one observation was that a hot relay is a bad relay-this was very true in my case. And no, the car ran fine up until this bout of random stalling, it did not matter if you just cruised along or slammed on the accelerator, it ran fine.
