Stalling, '86 244g, B230F injected engine 1989

Your symptoms sound like a bad Air Mass Meter. See if condition changes with it disconnected. If no change at all then it would be the prime suspect. Plug it in and out with the key off. The easiest way to know for sure is to replace it as a test. They can be obtained at a wrecker. A stuck air box thermostat can cause hot air from the exhaust manifold to fry the AMM.
If you have black exhaust smoke you may be running very rich which could also cause those symptoms. Temp sensor can cause this condition.
