Thanks for the information on the VW wheels - that wouldn't have been fun...

I would have loved to see the 17" rims on your 142 (my baby is a 1970 145) - any problems with those whatsoever?

You're telling me that the 165R15 is not a common size - the guys at the tire shops that I went to muttered to themselves when I inquired about these (wondering no doubt why I just couldn't go out and get myself a nice little Chevy Cavalier and save them the trouble) and the prices were not all that great either...

I have a strong suspicion I am going to follow that 740-road.
