Light problem after New Deck install 700 1991

Not sure about this one, just an idea. If your car has the pinch connector tieing the headlight switch to the deck for display dim when lights on, could the different setup cause a back feed condion? If so perhaps losing the connection?

I am not a radio person, forgive my ignorance, just an idea.
