engine 1800

Power/size, the best would be something other than a Volvo engine (ie...small block American V8), but that's too much work. Best be would be to find a fuel injected B20 from either '70 or '71. Them were the most powerful from stock, and should be quicker than your dad's car. And if you do a little aftermarket stuff, you'll be able to blow his doors off.

Your '68 should have a Dana 30 rear end. Plenty strong enough to stand up to even a race prepped B20. I wouldn't mess with it.
