Missing and sputtering...help! 700 1992

On a trip this weekend, I experienced a miss at speed. It would miss only one beat but became more frequent. At times it was fine. There didnt seem to be any coorelation with speed, underload, or steady driving. City driving was fine, no miss at all.

Now my wife said it is missing around town, much more frequently and sounded like it was sputtering.

Where shall I begin to look?

1992 740 Wagon (non turbo)automatic
