Strange acceleration problem 700 1989

Thanks for the info.

I'll try cleaning the TB and see how it goes.

Just out of interest, is the throttle link rod supposed to "slip off" the TB end easily, once you remove the retaining clip? There seems to be a fair bit of resistance there and I don't want to break it !

BTW: the main fuel pump seems to be having a hard time when I first start the car. Would this mean my in-tank pump is on its way out? Main pump is fine and not noisy after a few minutes of driving.
