I marked the distributor and rear of engine where the two meet before I had the head rebuilt, in order to keep same timing as set. I have replaced the Distributor Cap and Rotor which looked pretty cruddy. Cleaned distributer and replaced seals. When I went to replace the distributor on the newly rebuilt head the markings were off course gone. How do I line up the distributer and would the distributer - being off cause a no start? Aren't the rotor, cap and distributer mounted relative to each other?
